Visit to a local market

The cooking class usually starts with a visit to a local market, where the instructor will choose the best and freshest ingredients for the class. Walking around the market with its abundance of sounds, colors and scents is a fun experience in itself.

Apart from the meat, fish, vegetables and fruits, the market displays an enormous variety of spices and herbs like coriander, turmeric, coconut milk, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, lemongrass and of course many kinds of chilies.
