Chaweng Beach
Koh Samui’s largest beach
Chaweng on the Northeast tip of Koh Samui island is Samui’s largest and busiest resort town. It features a kilometers long sandy beach, water sports and beach side restaurants, as well as plenty of things to do away from the beach.
In Chaweng town you will find restaurants, markets, massage shops and spas. Chaweng is the center of nightlife on the island. Soi Green Mango is packed with bars, pubs, cabaret shows and girlie bars.

Cabaret Paris Follies
Cabaret Paris Follies is a funny and entertaining ladyboy cabaret show with dance and songs on a large stage. Ladyboys wearing lavish and colorful costumes perform a mix of modern and traditional acts.
There are four shows every evening. The earliest ones are most suitable for children, while the last ones are more spicy and risqué. After the show you can take your photo with the performers.
The theatre is located on the beach road next to Soi Green Mango in Chaweng town. Shows start daily at 8 pm, 9 pm, 10 pm and 11 pm.
Entrance is free, one quite expensive drink is compulsory.
Samui Football Golf
At Samui Football Golf you can complete a 18 hole golf course playing football. Have a lot of laughs trying to get the ball into each of the holes with as few kicks as possible. After hole 11 there is a break with a free drink.
It takes about 1 to 1½ hours to complete the course. After the game the winner can pose for photos on a podium holding up the world cup trophy.
Rates are 750 Baht for an adult, 350 Baht per child including free pick up from local hotel. Samui Football Golf is located on Route 4171 between Chaweng and Choeng Mon beach. It opens every day from 9 am until 6.30 pm.
Muay Thai boxing
Muay Thai is Thailand’s most popular sport which has evolved from fighting techniques used by the Siamese armies in previous centuries.
Watching the fights at Chaweng’s large stadium is a fun night out. Watch the boxers perform rituals before the fight and experience the exciting atmosphere during the fights that are accompanied by loud traditional music.
An evening of Muay Thai starts with the youngest teenage fighters, the best fights are towards the end.
The boxing stadium is located in Soi Reggae near the beach in the center of Chaweng town. Fights are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday starting at 9 pm until midnight. Ringside tickets are 1,500 Baht, VIP tickets 2,000 Baht. Drinks are available to your seats.
Mini Golf
Another fun activity for adults and children alike is the Mini Golf course. Some of the 18 holes are easy, others are quite difficult.
Mini Golf International is found on route 4171 near Choeng Mon beach, opening hours daily from 9 am until 6.30 pm.
Rates which include a free soft drink are 400 Baht for an adult and 200 Baht for a child under 12 years old.
Central Festival
Central Festival is the largest shopping center on Koh Samui. The modern three storey shopping center houses over 200 shops, restaurants, bars, a large food court, a cinema, a playground for children, a games arcade, coffee shops, a spa section, a Jim Thompson silk shop and even a Pirate Horror House.
Central Festival Samui is located on beach road Route 4171 between the lake and the beach in the Bophut area near Samui airport.
It opens daily from 11 am until 11 pm.
Walking Street & Market
A visit to Walking Street and its market is an evening of browsing, shopping and eating at a large outdoor market just off the main beach road in Chaweng.
Countless stalls sell Thai food and snacks like grilled chicken, Northeastern Esan food, curries, grilled pork and seafood. At the market you can buy items as sun glasses, fake brand shirts, bags, handicrafts, watches, clothing, beauty products and DVD’s.
You will find Walking Street along the main beach road in Chaweng. The market opens daily except Fridays and Sundays from late afternoon until midnight.
Aquapark Chaweng
Several dozen meters away from the beach is Aquapark Chaweng, a play area in the sea with large inflatable devices.
Both adults and bigger children will have fun bouncing, jumping and climbing on devices as the five meter high iceberg climbing wall, the Banana Rocker, Hamster Wheel, several slides, trampolines, a squishy log bridge and the human catapult.
Aquapark is located just North of OZO Chaweng Samui hotel on Chaweng beach. It opens daily from 10 am until 6 pm when sea and wind conditions are favorable.
Rates are 300 Baht for an hour, 500 Baht for 4 hours and 700 Baht for a full day.

Hyatt Regency Koh Samui
The Hyatt Regency is on a private stretch of Rock Beach in North Chaweng. Among the facilities of the new five-star hotel are a pool, fitness centre and full-service spa.
