One day Tuk Tuk adventure

Join the Tuk Tuk Club and spend a day in the rural countryside of Chiang Mai driving your own Tuk Tuk.

Transfer to Mae Wang

The day starts with transfer by air conditioned van from Chiang Mai to the Tuk Tuk base camp in Mae Wang, about an hour drive from the city. The area is rural with forests, mountains, rivers and small villages.

Tuk Tuk driving training

After arriving at the base camp you will get a short driving training to get familiar with the Tuk Tuk. Although easy to drive, it is good to get a little practice handling the Tuk Tuk before going out on the road.

To drive a Tuk Tuk you need a valid manual drivers license from your country and an international driving license. Those who prefer not to drive themselves, can sit comfortably in the back seats.

Drive your Tuk Tuk

Now it’s time to take your Tuk Tuk out on the road. Drive through the beautiful countryside, up and down narrow roads through small villages. We will make a stop at a local mountainside Buddhist temple to make merit.

Elephant Sanctuary

Continue driving along the winding roads of the North to Mae Wang elephant sanctuary, a large natural area where the animals can roam around freely.

Get close to and interact with these giant animals that used to work in the logging business. After learning some facts about elephants, you can prepare their food and feed it to them yourself. After lunch, join the mahouts and walk the elephants to the river to bathe them in the cool mountain stream.

You can change clothes at the elephant sanctuary to keep your own clean and dry.

Return to Chiang Mai

After the rafting it is time to drive your Tuk Tuk back to the base camp in Mae Wang. Then transfer back to Chiang Mai city by air conditioned van.
